Director of Youth and Children’s Ministries
PRINCIPAL FUNCTION
Under the direction of the Senior Pastor, the Director of Youth and Children’s Ministries is responsible for developing, maintaining and growing a student ministry, both inward to church members and outward to the community. The ministries, under the supervision of the director, shall enhance the existing ministries of Elders Baptist Church as they mutually seek to further the kingdom of Christ.
YOUTH RESPONSIBILITIES (6-12th grade)
Approve and sanction activities and leadership for Elders Baptist Youth Department
Provide direction and assistance to leaders of youth ministries.
Coordinate training for youth leaders and church members involved in youth ministries.
Plan and coordinate youth events and activities.
Serve as chairperson and share leadership of Youth Council.
Participate in outreach with the goal of reaching the whole family of youth participants
Other duties as assigned
CHILDREN’S RESPONSIBILIES (K-5th grade)
Approve and sanction activities and leadership for Elders Baptist Children’s Department
Provide direction and assistance to leaders of children’s ministries.
Coordinate training for children’s leaders and church members involved in children’s ministries.
Plan and coordinate special children’s events activities.
Actively participate in Children’s Worship
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in outreach with the goal of reaching the whole family of youth and children’s participants
Prepare and submit a budget for youth and children’s ministry.
Serve as member of Church Council
Other duties as assigned
EXPECTATIONS
Exhibit a spirit of cooperation with all ministries of the Church.
Be baptized believer and a member of Elders Baptist Church.
Present a neat and pleasant appearance.
Expected to keep posted office hours, attend all Sunday worship services and regularly scheduled midweek youth and children’s activities and as many other youth and children’s activities as possible. When unable to attend, notify the Pastor (Or in his absence Personnel Committee) and find an approved suitable substitute.
Be flexible and able to make changes as needed.
