Heritage Fellowship Church is seeking a Special Assistant to the Pastor. We are a body of worship of 1100+ supporting the vision of our Sr. Pastor. The Special Assistant (SA) will serve under the direction of the Sr. Pastor, and will be a member of the leadership team. Areas of responsibility will include: incorporation of newcomers into our congregation by: a)Facilitating newcomers’ sense of belonging and raise their comfort level by getting to know their needs and strengths; b)Directing newcomers to particular ministries where they can be served and/or serve others through involvement at Heritage; c)introducing newcomers to individuals or families of Heritage to help them build positive relationships which will result in mutual growth as whole persons. The SA will also be responsible for the implementation of Sr. Pastor’s ministry directives, will teach Sunday school and/or bible study classes or lead other educational ministries regularly; develop and oversee small group ministry for evangelism, discipleship and spiritual growth; encourage and equip believers for the purpose of preparing ministers for the ministry of serving the body. Must be willing to step in and preach when called upon by the Senior Pastor in the event of sickness or vacation. SA will be asked to counsel with individuals or groups, if appropriate. Help those who seek counseling find a professional Christian counselor trained in the needs area; pray for and with the ministries and people of the church faithfully and regularly. Must maintain consistent office and ministry hours while reserving a minimum of one day off per week; participate in weekly staff meetings.
Must have a commitment to Christ and the work of His Church; maintain a strong spiritual life and conduct as an example to the church body, by meeting the spiritual qualifications as defined in I Timothy 2, and Titus 1. Must have a commmitment to the doctrine as adopted in the constitution of Heritage Fellowship Church; commitment to excellence in personal, family and congregational conduct. Primary ministries will include planning and leading the public worship gatherings of the congregation as well as recruiting and training worship personnel as appropriate.
Must be an ordained minister with a seminary degree (required). SA will be expected to take advantage of continuing education opportunities. Must possess excellent leadership and administrative ability. Must be able to develop and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships with all ages.
