The Vineyard Community Church (VCC), located in Cincinnati, OH, was established in 1983 and today is home to over 5,000 regular attendees with five weekend services, many small groups, weekly outreaches and a variety of ministries. VCC’s mission is to love the people of Cincinnati into relationship with Jesus Christ and to give away to the world what God has given us. Executive Pastor
This position will assume the following responsibilities:
Support to the Senior Pastor (SP)
-Communicates accurately the vision and values of the Senior Pastor.
-The EP provides reports to the Board at the request of the Senior Pastor and/or the Board.
-In conjunction with the Senior Pastor, the EP is responsible for annual development of goals and objectives of church within the strategic plan and operating budget approved by the Board.
Management and Development of the Senior Leadership (AP) Team
-Manages the performance of the AP’s to increase productivity and motivation (utilizing principles of situational leadership).
-Facilitates the AP strategic meetings and leads the AP tactical meetings.
-Manages and supervises the Director of People Resources.
Execution and Development of Strategic Plan
-Assumes primary responsibility for the execution & development of VCC’s strategic plan and annual operating budget prepared for and approved by the Board.
-Maintains organizational focus on current strategic goals and objectives
-Ensures that individual ministries align with the overall VCC vision.
-Creates an environment and systems (a) in which staff can excel at accomplishing ministry objectives and goals; (b) that facilitates information between members and the church and vice versa.
Oversight of Organizational Systems
-Ensures there is clarity of operating processes and procedures.
-Ensures ongoing development of information systems that will measure strategic and tactical effectiveness, identify member base in all respects and present church attributes effectively.
Insurance of Financial and Operational Integrity
-Assumes primary responsibility for financial soundness of VCC through oversight of CFO and all related financial matters.
-Assumes primary responsibility for risk management.
-Assumes primary responsibility for the church’s legal relationships.
Education:
Masters Level work in church/organizational leadership preferred.
Essential Experience:
•Minimum of five years ministry experience in leadership and administration in a large (1000+) church setting or similar multilevel large staff ministry
•Proven experience in managing day-to-day operations of a large organization and staff.
•Proven experience in change management, visoneering, conflict and people management in a large organization.
•Proven experience in managing staff to high levels of performance and motivation
