As a ministry area of the VCC, Growth & Healing’s mission is to provide a place for the healing of hurts and the preservation of health in the emotional, relational and spiritual realms and to compassionately address people’s wounds and so draw them into a richer relationship with Jesus Christ. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Growth & Healing (G&H), the Assistant Director is primarily responsible for leadership and development of volunteers, assisting with the development and execution of G&H’s strategic plan, partnering with other internal and external ministries to carry out the mission of G&H, and supporting the Sr. Director of G&H.
A Master’s degree in Counseling or related field is required, with an additional degree in Christian ministry preferred. A minimum of 2 years of practical, on-the-job experience to include: knowledge and understanding of group process and dynamics; pastoral care to include pastoral counseling, teaching, prayer, vision casting, discipleship and equipping; proven experience leading teams of volunteer ministers; proven experience delegating to and supervising volunteers in roles with decision making authority; proven ability to work collaboratively with others from a position of influence.
