The Director of Worship Arts has the primary function of nurturing and facilitating heartfelt corporate worship of God through revelation (the communication of Gods truth) and response (in a diversity of musical and artistic expressions). As such, this person is responsible for all aspects of the ministry of worship as expressed through music and arts at Central Bible Church.
QUALIFICATIONS
In agreement with the doctrinal statement, constitution, core values and vision of CBC.
In agreement with the philosophy of worship through arts at Central Bible Church.
Must meet the requirements of an Elder as listed in 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1 and 1 Peter 5.
Must demonstrate appropriate spiritual, relational and leadership skills to adequately fulfill the requirements of the position.
Should have at least a Bachelors Degree. An undergraduate or graduate music and Bible degree are desirable.
Should have at least three years experience leading worship and demonstrated ability to lead, organize and delegate the creative elements involved in the worship service.
A servant leader with a sincere heart to worship the Lord and lead others in authentic participatory worship.
Ability to work as a team player with the other Pastors, Elders and worship leaders.
Creative, responsible, flexible and visionary.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Organizational (Overseeing)
Carry out the delegated responsibility for all aspects of the morning service that are of a musical or artistic expression. This includes the incorporation and coordination of congregational songs, choir, dance, drama, or other artistic expressions, insuring that they keep within the flow of that days service.
Meet weekly with the Senior Pastor to discuss service elements and other artistic elements that support the worship and life-change objectives for each service.
Decide and coordinate the incorporation of body-life elements such as
announcements, special updates, baby dedications, baptisms, etc. insuring that they keep within the atmospheric flow of that days service agreed upon between the worship pastor and senior pastor.
Oversee weekly rehearsals of the worship teams.
Give input as to the overall atmosphere of the auditorium related to its conduciveness to worship.
Develop and oversee audio and visual teams.
Provide song information for PowerPoint, layout instructions for the sound team and other communications as necessary.
Communicate rehearsal times and locations with the Central Bible office secretary and the teams.
Oversee the proper storage, inventory, and maintenance of all Central Bible music equipment.
Oversee and maintain compliance with applicable copyright laws.
