SENIOR PASTOR PROFILE

Santa Rosa Alliance Church is seeking a Senior Pastor who exemplifies the qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9; and I Peter 5: 1-5. As an under-shepherd who stands out as one among equals he will model the pattern established by the Lord Jesus Christ, in caring for, protecting, defending, and guiding the congregation of SRAC. He will continue to unify all the age groups and diverse cultures of the congregation into one loving body. He will also have a sense of urgency in challenging the body of believers to seek out the predominantly lost people of Santa Rosa who do not yet know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Understanding that the pastor would like to know every person deeply, it is unreasonable to expect the Senior Pastor to personally minister to every person that attends a church the size of SRAC. Therefore our senior pastor must value and embrace a shared leadership approach that assures the entire congregation is spiritually cared for. He must also champion active participation in small groups by all members of the congregations where they can exercise their God given spiritual gifts.

The essential characteristics we are looking for in our next Senior Pastor are:
• Doctrinal compatibility with the C&MA and active support of the C&MA’s mission emphasis
• Education, training and experience in preaching a compelling and consistent exposition of God’s Word
• Confidence as a Servant leader; able to effectively value and share administrative leadership.
• The ability to mentor the Eldership and model authentic servant leadership to the entire congregation
• Good relational skills that allow connections to be formed easily with a broad spectrum of people
• Able to effectively cast a shared vision to capitalize on our strengths and mobilize us for active participation in our stated mission
• A calling to the community of Santa Rosa which encompasses a heart for its diverse people and needs
• If married, both model a healthy marriage and family relationship and shared calling to ministry.
• An expected stay of 10 years or more, as demonstrated by past pastorates.
