Lutheran Church in Los Gatos, CA seeks a Christian, collaborative professional to execute, oversee and direct the financial, facility, personnel, legal and administrative activities. The objective is to improve effectiveness and efficiency which will free resources and time that can be spent to further ministry efforts. This is a part-time position (30 hours a week) reporting to the Senior Pastor. Job Requirements:

• Post-high school education and experience with skills in business administration, human resource management, property management, and coordinating activities with others in a team environment.
• Skills in working with others, strong spoken and written communications, organization, coordination, and management
• Available for work during normal working hours during the week
• Prefer experience in using personal computer systems (Windows); Spreadsheet [Microsoft Excel; Accounting [Intuit QuickBooks]
• Ability to provide regular oversight of contract workers, (e.g. janitors and gardener) and "as needed" supervision of tradesmen working for Holy Cross
• Must be flexible and able to respond consistently in an interrupt driven environment
• Knowledge of non-profit and day-care program laws; preferred experienced with religious organizations
Primary Duties:
Financial: Oversight of all accounting activities including accounts payable, the application of accounting practices, and approval and payment of expenditures against the allowable budget; activities are executed by a bookkeeper that reports to the business adminstrator.
Facilities: Responsible for the identification of the maintenance needs of all facilities and grounds, the development of an ongoing maintenance program to address these needs, and insuring that everyday maintenance tasks are completed. Execution of the maintenance is done by a part-time handyman, volunteers, or contractors.
Personnel: Responsible for oversight of the administration of payroll and benefits for all staff, and is directly responsible for driving the development and maintenance of personnel policies, and compliance with HR laws.
Administrative: The business administrator is responsible for general administrative activities that insure effective and efficient operations.
