Evangelical Covenant Church is located on the east side of Des Moines reaching into several surrounding communities. We are a Bible driven, family focused, Great Commission church. We are conservative in our theology, but purpose driven in ministry. We currently average about 300 in attendance at two Sunday morning worship services and are excited as God continues to expand our ministry and vision for the future! We are fairly contemporary in our style of worship seeking to incorporate praise and worship songs and some hymn arrangements in a flow of worship that reflects the mainstream of today’s worship culture. We are seeking a dynamic worship pastor for our growing ministry and outreach. This member of the pastoral team must be spiritually mature, have a deep personal relationship with Christ, and support a philosophy of ministry that reflects the Great Commission. Potential candidates must demonstrate an understanding of Biblical worship and the ability to effectively lead people into the presence of God. This person must provide exceptional musical, technical, and leadership gifts/skills, and the ability to plan and coordinate the flow of worship. The ability to lead with instrument (guitar/keyboard) is preferred. He must exhibit the capability of recruiting, training, and motivating leadership in the development of worship teams, worship band, and other areas of new ministry. Although the primary focus of this position is worship, this member of the pastoral team will have some responsibilities in the areas of assimilation of new worship attenders and ministry development. Candidates should be able to demonstrate the ability to bring innovation to existing ministries as well as envision and create new ministries. He must demonstrate good organizational, communication, and administrative skills. Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in ministry related field or equivalent, have at least 2 to 4 years experience in related work.
