Job Description:
An Organist Accompanist for a vibrant ELCA congregation with programs and outreach to appeal to the growing communities in the area. Worship styles include traditional, blended, and contemporary at 3 Sunday morning services. Attendance is 700 - 800 per weekend. Music groups include adult and children's choirs, bell choirs, worship band, orchestra, and small singing groups and ensembles. Applicants for this position should possess excellent keyboard skills and solid ability and experience on the organ. He/She will work approximately 8 - 10 hours per week on average. He/She will be expected to play lead on organ and piano at the 7:45 am Sunday worship service, provide accompaniment to Sunday's 9:00 am worship service, choose service music for weekly worship as guided by the Director of Worship Ministries, accompany the adult choir at Thursday night rehearsal and in worship, play lead on organ or piano for special services such as Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, 2 Wednesday Lenten services, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, and be available for other special services with additional compensations provided.
