We are currently seeking to hire a part-time pastoral staff person to assist us in the areas of outreach and evangelism. The responsibilities of the Associate Pastor if Outreach and Evangelism will include the following:1. Equip members to effectively evangelize our community,
2. Develop and implement strategies for outreach,
3. Develop and oversee outreach events,
4. Oversee assimilation of new people, and
5. Provide leadership for the Evangelism Committee,
The Associate Pastor would not primarily be responsible to do the evangelism for us (though he would be expected to be actively evangelizing) but to help train us, develop events and strategies, and oversee all aspects of outreach and evangelism. The Associate Pastor would coordinate his activities with the Senior Pastor. He is ultimately responsible to the Board of Deacons and would be expected to report to the Board on a regular basis. We estimate that the position would require approximately 20 hours per week. Annual salary/benefits compensation will be set between $18,000 and $22,000, depending on the qualifications, experience and fit of the candidate.
This position has been created with a 2 year duration at this time. The position would be evaluated during and at the end of the 2 year period. The evaluation will be based on mutually agreed upon ministry objectives set in conjunction by the Board of Deacons, Board of Trustees and the hired Associate Pastor. The position may be extended, made full-time, or otherwise modified at the end of the 2 year period.
The church is seeking candidates for the position of Associate Pastor of Outreach and Evangelism with the following qualifications:
1. A fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ
2. Passionate about evangelism
3. Able to equip others (proven experience is helpful)
4. 2 to 3 years of proven experience in outreach and/or evangelism
5. Bible college, or equivalent, education
6. A "team player"
7. Some administrative abilities
